I have always lived within my means. (Spent less than I made). Save your money, pay cash, stay out of debt! I worked my way through college playing music and teaching guitar. My 1st car I bought when I was a senior in college was a 1949 used Plymouth Couple for $600, which I paid cash for. I never bought another car until I could pay cash for it. Look at the money I saved by not paying interest on a car payment. Our first house was a $17,000 house in Billing, MT which I acquired by trading my Livingston, MT music store for. I never bought another house unless I could pay cash for it. Look at the money I saved by paying interest on a house payment. Also, I have never made interest payments on a credit card. Do not use credit cards except to rent cars. Interest charges are insane. Don’t let credit card companies take your money with these high interest, late charges etc. Pay them off in time.
Save and pay cash for everything. Car company TV ads never tell you the price of a car. They want you to get hooked on credit so they can charge you big interest, late fees, etc.
This recession came about because of too easy credit on houses. I am told there were 3 million houses that there was never a payment made on them. This started the house of cards of deficit on home payments that caused this recession. Save your money, pay cash, stay out of debt!
